Addison Group has partnered with a well-established manufacturing company that’s adding an Accounts Receivable Specialist to its accounting team. This contract role calls for someone with strong technical skills and comfort working across multiple ERP systems and large data sets. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy and efficiency make a real impact on daily operations.
Position Overview The AR Specialist – Cash Applications will handle the accurate posting, reconciliation, and analysis of customer payments across various business units. This position plays an integral role in maintaining cash flow integrity, identifying and resolving payment discrepancies, and partnering closely with internal teams to ensure smooth and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Process and apply customer payments (ACH, wire, check, and credit card) accurately and efficiently across multiple accounts
Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, and other payment discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain accurate AR records, ensuring all transactions are properly coded and documented
Partner with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to verify account activity and resolve issues collaboratively
Communicate with customers to clarify account details and obtain supporting documentation when needed
Support month‑end close through reconciliations, journal entries, and AR reporting
Track and analyze cash application and deduction trends to identify root causes and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on accounts receivable or cash applications experience in a high‑volume environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in managing complex customer accounts
Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems; ability to learn new technology quickly
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
