Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist I will perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting of waived and non‑waived test results under general supervision. A generous sign‑on bonus of $10,000 will be offered to eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting and record maintenance.
Maintain proficiency testing records and ensure patient sample and proficiency sample testing are performed consistently.
Document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, maintenance and corrective actions.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting and notify the supervisor or appropriate clinical personnel.
Qualifications
Education
– Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences (required).
Licenses & Credentials
– Medical Technologist (ASCP) – American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP‑BOC) preferred.
Experience
– 1‑2 years of laboratory experience (required).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
– Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance and repair and analytic techniques; multitask in a fast‑paced environment; pay careful attention to detail and adhere to written protocols; perform as a team member; excellent interpersonal skills; interact professionally with physicians, hospital personnel, employees and patients.
