Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging and effective biology lessons for students at various levels (e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses).

Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments.

Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Collaborate with other faculty members to create and refine curriculum materials, ensuring they meet the needs of the school’s educational goals.

Maintain an orderly and productive classroom environment, addressing student behavior and promoting respect for others.

Encourage and guide students in collaborative group work and individual tasks.

Offer additional support during office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring for students who require extra help or challenge.

Advise students on college and career pathways, particularly in science-related fields.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred for advanced courses or higher teaching roles).

Prior experience teaching biology at the middle or high school level, particularly in a private or independent school setting, is preferred.

Experience in designing and delivering hands-on experiments and using laboratory equipment.

Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP Biology, IB Biology) may be a plus.

In-depth understanding of physics principles, theories, and concepts.

Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Ability to integrate technology effectively into biology instruction, such as through simulations, virtual labs, and multimedia presentations.
