Location: Northbrook, Illinois (remote possible in certain states per Responsible Flexibility Guidelines).

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for managing activities related to business and operations processes and systems used by the Functional Unit. Oversee vendor relationships, create annual plans and objectives with senior leaders, ensure inspection readiness, support training and inspection readiness activities across the unit.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Contribute to and support Functional Unit outsourcing strategy, ensuring pragmatic, portfolio-optimized plans that consider vendor performance, business risk, and Astellas strategic direction; ensure compliance with vendor management processes and propose process improvements.

Analyze budgeted vs actual vendor costs and propose operational efficiencies to drive cost reductions.

Act as subject matter expert between Astellas functions and vendors on resources, processes, systems, training, and quality.

Coordinate outsourcing activities from concept to planning, transition, and steady state for multiple functional areas.

Implement metrics and key performance indicators for vendor and study teams to ensure optimal performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree (MS preferred). Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical industry and deep understanding of clinical operations or data science processes.

Portfolio planning, forecasting, and budgeting skills.

Quality, compliance, and/or inspection/audit experience.

Familiarity with PM methodology preferred.

Preferred:

Prior experience with clinical development and/or supporting clinical trials; prior experience with vendor management relationships.

Salary Range $150K – $190K (final salary could be more or less based on experience).
