Senior Cyber Security Engineer. Job Category: Information Technology. Time Type: Full time. Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret. Employee Type: Regular. Travel: Up to 10% (Continental US). CACI is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support the U. S. Navy’s premier development, test and evaluation command located on the eastern shore of Virginia (Wallops Island). As a Lead Cyber Security Engineer and certified Naval Validator, you will be an integral member of a government/industry team supporting cyber and IA responsibilities for the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) and its customers developing and fielding programs such as AEGIS, Aegis BMD and SSDS Integrated Combat Systems. What You’ll Get to Do
The successful candidate will provide Cyber Security Subject Matter Expertise in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, SCSC at Wallops Island, Virginia and NIWC in Norfolk, Virginia. Work will be onsite three days per week and remotely twice per week. This may change based on mission needs. Implement technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attack, damage, or unauthorized access. Maintain network devices and information security incident, damage and threat assessment programs, including providing intrusion support to high technology investigations in the form of network assessments. Research and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and network and device security and encryption. Perform duties in support of in-house and external customers. Design, develop, or recommend integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected in accordance with mandated standards. Participate in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. Configure and validate secure systems, and test security products/systems to detect weaknesses. Generate security architecture documentation. Design and implement plans of action and milestones to remediate findings from vulnerability and risk assessments, and provide information assurance for digital information (confidentiality, integrity, availability). Cyber Security: IA maintenance including reviewing logs, scanning for vulnerabilities, applying patches, running virus scans, and updating virus signatures. Mitigation of vulnerabilities, application of patches, running virus scans, and updating virus signatures. Assessing and implementing corrective actions (system patches and fixes). Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program responsibilities. Identifying, responding, and reporting security anomalies and integrity gaps by reviewing SEIM tools and syslogs. Troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, managing access control, and analyzing logs for RDT&E networks, IT, and telecommunications systems. Tracking and reporting certifications of system technicians to the SCSC ISSO. Maintaining Privileged Access to IT systems in accordance with US Navy Cyber Policy. Information Assurance (IA)
IA engineering and technical services to assist SCSC in management, administration, and execution of tasks pertaining to A&A, security, and compliance of SCSC IT infrastructure, systems, and solutions. IA engineering, technical, and administrative services for SCSC IT infrastructure, including future products and technologies. Reviewing and updating network administrative documentation for SCSC information systems and preparing the IT/IA Management Plan. A&A documentation and materials for existing and new systems. Validate A&A packages meet compliance requirements and provide reports. Generate A&A POA&Ms for accredited systems. Enter government-approved data into Navy approval systems. Review vulnerability and scanning reports with Systems Administrators to resolve inconsistencies and assess, remediate, and mitigate vulnerabilities. Maintain and recommend IAVM and SEIM tools to improve processes. Review network and system audit logs and notify the client of potential threats or misconfigurations. Support documentation and policy transition to NIST RMF processes. Collect evidence, sanitize systems, and prepare documentation for electronic incidents and spillages. Maintain the Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) list identifying IA-trained and certified individuals. You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Current Secret Clearance Current Operating System or Networking Technology Certification IT-1 Level Clearance Investigation Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV) Bachelor’s Degree At least 12 years of relevant experience providing Information Assurance and Cyber Security services, with at least 7 years in DoD Nice to Have
