Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking multiple Systems Engineer – Career or Expert to support our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Everett or Renton, WA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, design, verification & validation (V&V), and demonstrate knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Diagram process as defined in ARP4754A/ARP4761 standards.
This role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, safety, and test engineering) to ensure robust system development, compliance with certification standards, and alignments to make a positive impact on the future of The Boeing Company.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.
Lead development and maintain functional and logical airplane and system architecture.
Ensure functional hazard assessments (FHA), preliminary system safety assessments (PSSA), and common mode analyses (CMA) in alignment with safety objectives.
Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability to all -level (e.g., DRO, SRO and SCD) requirements.
Develop plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model (item verification, system integration & verification, aircraft-level verification).
Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and compliance with applicable aerospace/defense regulations (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).
Lead discussions across software and hardware engineering teams during design and testing phases.
Provide documentation and support for certification authorities (FAA/EASA).
Participate in technical design reviews, audits, and interchange meetings.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
9 years of experience in systems engineering lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains.
Extensive hands‑on experience with V‑Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation).
Knowledge of safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES).
Familiarity with certification frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO‑178C, DO‑254).
Strong analytical thinking, clear technical writing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
Developing System modeling (SysML/UML, Cameo, or equivalent) at the airplane and systems level.
Leading test planning and execution across multiple integration levels.
Aircraft design, development and certification knowledge.
