The Wu Lab studies the mechanisms of innate immunity and how they influence adaptive immunity, inflammation, and cancer, focusing on the cGAS‑STING pathway. Using diverse research approaches and mouse models, the lab aims to uncover new immune regulatory mechanisms to inform the development of novel immunotherapies for cancer and inflammatory diseases.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
Assist with scheduling analyses and establishing various procedures.
Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Accumulate data from analyses.
Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and research forms.
Maintain mouse colony and their responses; track mouse genotyping.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associate’s degree in a laboratory science field and one year of work experience OR a bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, comfortable handling mice, biology or medicine background/experience, experience with genotyping.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Ability to distinguish color.
Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment.
Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds.
May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio‑hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $18.88 Maximum hourly: $28.80
