Overview
Under the direction of the Clinical Imaging Informatics Director, the Imaging Systems Architect is responsible for the design, integration, and technical guidance across all imaging areas of Keck Medicine of USC, ensuring successful delivery of existing and new imaging solutions. The Architect will lead the imaging strategy for new business ventures, play a key role in M&A diligence to evaluate imaging footprints, and develop the Keck standard playbook for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
Responsibilities
Solution Delivery and Oversight
Validate clinical imaging technical approach, monitor risks, design high-level systems, and provide oversight across the delivery lifecycle.
Governance and Standards
Develop roadmaps, set long-term vision, drive technology standards, and propose technology revisions to meet project objectives.
Soft Skills
Lead architectural vision, train and mentor staff, and facilitate discussions to support program and large project milestones.
Project Management
Plan and ensure quality of activities related to design, build, and implementation; manage cross-functional teams.
Hands-on Technical Role
Maintain service-oriented architectures, verify vendor selection processes, and provide expertise in data, software, and infrastructure architecture.
Other Duties as assigned
Additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
High school or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomed, Computer Science, or related field Minimum nine years of relevant business experience if no Bachelor’s degree Minimum five years of experience supporting clinical imaging technology environments Expert knowledge of DICOM, HL7, IHE, and imaging modalities (XR, US, MRI, CT, Nuclear, Mammo, EKG) Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN, wired/wireless networking technologies, and computer hardware (advanced workstations, diagnostic monitors) Solid understanding of multiple disciplines such as operating systems, virtualization, networking, integration, software development, endpoint devices, security, or cloud services Excellent critical and analytical thinking, customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, and advanced infrastructure design skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certified PACS Interface Analyst Exam (CPIA) and Certified PACS Systems Analyst (CPSA) Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP)
Required Licenses/Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). Must obtain within 30 days of hire and renew before expiration.
Salary
$133,120.00 - $219,648.00
