CEQA Noise Scientist I

as a Noise Scientist I. This mid‑level management opportunity supports California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis requirements and focuses on noise and vibration impact analysis.
Base Pay Range $77,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Conduct noise analysis, including ambient noise measurements, stationary and mobile source noise modeling, and construction noise modeling.
Prepare clear, concise, and legally supported technical documents.
Perform quantitative noise and vibration impact assessments in accordance with applicable regulations.
Support multiple project teams across urban, suburban, and rural settings, including site development and general plan implementation.
Lead and supervise junior staff, providing guidance and ensuring accurate technical output.
Coordinate with project managers to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
Qualifications
5-7 years of environmental services experience, including air quality and greenhouse gas modeling skills (AERMOD, CalEEMod, ArcGIS).
Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related field (master’s a plus).
Experience preparing stand‑alone noise technical studies and studies in compliance with CEQA and NEPA.
Proficiency with noise models (FHWA RD‑77‑108, FHWA Roadway Construction Model, FHWA TNM, SoundPLAN) and off‑model calculations.
Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
