Description We’re seeking a strong Mechanical Designer with a foundation in manufacturing and machining. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys solving complex design challenges, and can confidently take a project from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design efforts for custom automation equipment, from initial concept through final build
Use SolidWorks and PDM to develop detailed mechanical designs
Collaborate directly with vendors and suppliers to source components and manage timelines
Spend time on the shop floor—debugging, troubleshooting, and supporting equipment builds
Work closely with controls engineers and other team members to ensure seamless integration
Design and support systems involving cylinders, sensors, and small to medium‑sized equipment
Skills
Blueprint, schematic, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, SolidWorks, mechanical design, design, sheet metal, drafting, machine design, 3D modeling, new product development, CAD, GDT, automation
Experience
5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in custom equipment or automation
2+ years of SolidWorks experience
2+ years of new product development
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
