Overview As a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) at Ambar Partners, you will design and deploy scalable systems, build event‑driven microservices, and help shape the future of legal work.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain high‑quality, scalable applications using Python, Django, FastAPI, and AWS.

Develop and maintain event‑driven microservices, Celery workers, Redis, SQS, Step Functions, and async processes.

Build and expose RESTful APIs, ensuring security, performance, and best practices.

Design and optimize data layers in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch to deliver fast, reliable results.

Write automated unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and maintain code quality standards.

Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver features quickly, iterating on feedback.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and proactively enhance scalability and reliability.

Qualifications

+6 years of experience building production systems in Python/Django and Celery for async tasks.

Hands‑on experience with FastAPI, RESTful APIs, and API integration via JSON.

Proficiency with Docker, AWS, and event‑driven microservice architectures.

Strong background in SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB), plus exposure to Elasticsearch.

Experience developing unit tests, continuous integration, and automated quality gates.

Familiarity with Redis, Celery, and async task processing patterns.

Active curiosity about AI/ML and willingness to experiment with emerging technologies.

English skills for communication with a global team.
