Principal Network Development Engineer
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a Principal Network Development Engineer (NDE) to design, support, and automate the global network fabric that powers hundreds of thousands of devices across the world.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and operate large‑scale, global Oracle cloud computing network environments.
Lead architecture design for network solutions and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Decompose network designs into executable tasks, develop and deliver milestones.
Provide break‑fix support, participate in post‑event root cause analysis, and serve as escalation point.
Coordinate with network vendor technical accounts and internal QA to resolve bugs and qualify new firmware/OS.
Develop and integrate automation tooling and support tooling for networking services.
Serve as technical SME on cross‑functional activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
6‑10+ years of professional experience in networking.
In‑depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS.
Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment.
Experience with YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF, and network modeling.
Knowledge of network security design, system performance characterization and testing.
Knowledge of data flow and telemetry design, deployment and operation.
Capable of working under some supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment.
Proficiency in Python for automation and datacenter design.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent judgment to influence product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
Benefits US salary range: $109,200 – $223,400 per year, plus bonus and equity.
