Shift: 12-hr Days | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Job Type: Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Job Summary The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, staffing, and quality outcomes of the cardiovascular surgical services. This leader will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administration to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality care delivery within the CVOR.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Cardiovascular Operating Room.
Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Collaborate with surgeons and perioperative teams to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
Oversee budgetary planning, equipment procurement, and staff development.
Monitor quality assurance programs, infection control standards, and patient safety metrics.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in line with hospital goals and national benchmarks.
Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and hospital administration.
Qualifications Required Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing OR
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with MBA, MHA, or a related healthcare management degree
Preferred Education
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Required Licensure/Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
National Nursing Leadership Certification (must be obtained within one year of hire or by signed commitment)
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare or perioperative setting
Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, Internet/Intranet software
Preferred Experience
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services or cardiovascular OR management
