Forms+Surfaces is a leading designer and manufacturer of architectural products used in public spaces globally. Our brand covers surfaces, elevator interiors, doors and hardware, information displays, wall systems, columns, railing, and outdoor site furniture. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Architectural Sales professional residing in the Chicago area for the position of Business Development Manager – Site Products, focusing on exterior architectural products (outdoor site furniture and lighting, etc.).
Responsibilities
Specialize in exterior architectural product lines to strengthen product expertise and build relationships with Landscape Architects / Designers and other specifiers.
Develop and manage sales opportunities in the A&D community with emphasis on exterior architectural solutions.
Craft technical, substitution-proof specifications and follow them throughout the bidding and ordering cycle.
Understand specifiers’ needs, requirements, and concerns; offer creative solutions to challenges; prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain excellent communications and organizational skills and fully utilize CRM software and other technologies.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Design teams to achieve common goals in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications
Experience with technical, design-oriented solutions.
3–5 years’ experience in a Landscape Architect / Designer role is a plus.
3–5 years demonstrated sales success in the A/D market with emphasis on architectural interiors, wall cladding, glass, and/or exterior architectural solutions.
Strong, experience-based understanding of the A&D community; proven success working with architects, contractors, landscape architects, facility owners, and other specifiers.
Ability to craft and follow technical specifications throughout the bidding and ordering process.
In-depth knowledge of specifiers’ needs and the ability to offer creative solutions; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent communications and organizational skills; ability to fully utilize CRM software and other technologies.
Enjoy working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and engaging team members across the organization.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a graduate Landscape Architect/Designer (or related technical degree) with some specific technical Architectural or related experience before transitioning into a sales role calling on specifiers and end-users in the A&D community.
