We have multiple CNN Digital Editorial internship opportunities available in the NYC area. Selected interns will be expected to join us in the office regularly based on the intern manager’s schedule.

Your Role Accountabilities
Hands‑on work and mentorship from passionate, talented team members.
Reporting and writing multiple news stories every week on deadlines and receiving a byline for those stories.
Research developing and breaking news stories.
Fact‑check.
Log tapes.
Conduct interviews.
Pitch story ideas.
Write brief news copy.
Contributing to and writing original stories for CNN Digital.
Independent research on topics/designated areas of interest for growth and audience engagement as directed by relevant members of the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Writing samples are required.
Curious mind.
Excellent communicator.
Attention to detail.
Research skills.
Digital literacy.
Have keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great story.
Interest in writing for business, consumer, e‑commerce, product reviews, lifestyle, science, or travel features.
Experience reading, evaluating and reporting on studies and data.
Basic understanding of cross‑platform storytelling.
Experience working in a digital newsroom.
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required).
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older).
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA). Transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
Program Dates Start Date: January 26th
End Date: April 17th
Interns will be expected to work 16–24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
Internships are paid with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, documentation for school credit can be provided if desired. Relocation is not provided.
Interviewing will take place from early November through early January. Due to the high volume of applications, status updates will not be provided individually.
