Opportunity Overview:

The Customer Support Applications Engineer will assist customers in the use of Teradyne systems and products, analyze problems and determine solutions, assess and approve quality of shipped materials, develop training material, and instruct internal and external engineers in maintenance, repair, and use of existing products. You will work with the Engineering teams, Application teams, Program teams, Operations Manufacturing and Repair teams, Sales teams, and Field teams. You will interface with Teradyne customers while providing technical and troubleshooting guidance, input to technical presentations, leading formal reviews, and providing training.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers, field service, field applications, sales, and engineering to solve testing challenges and resolve issues with hardware and typical applications

Coordinate with Teradyne manufacturing and repair centers and interface with related vendors

Develop, maintain, and instruct specialized training classes for hardware and systems maintenance and usage

Advocate and ensure that customer requirements are met and processes are followed during product development and problem report resolution

Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge technology

Identify trends in customer requirements and typical use to help guide the development of new Teradyne instrumentation and systems

Hardware instrumentation experience with GPIB, MXI/MXIe, PXI/PXIe, LXI, VXI controlled test instruments and automated test systems preferred.

Familiarity with Teradyne Spectrum Family of Testers

Prefer knowledge of ANSI C, C#, C++, and graphical programming environments

Build key relationships: Engineers, Engineering Support Manager, Marketing, Sales, Technicians, Technical Writers

Ability to learn new things quickly and apply them

Process oriented and continuous improvement focused

Ability to develop and maintain fellowship across departments

Excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical and PC Skills

Be able to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment

BS or MS degree (Electrical or Computer Eng/Science)

5-10 years of engineering experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

Travel requirements may be 10% or greater.

Compensation The base salary range for this role is $123,400-197,500. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
