Job Description

The Loss Prevention Officer ensures the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and employees, enforces hotel policies and procedures, and records assigned tasks in writing. Prepare incident and accident reports accurately in the format specified by the Director of Loss Prevention.

Responsibilities

• Performs security rounds of the hotel, including front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
• Protects the hotel from admission of undesirables and others not conducting legitimate business.
• Familiar with all emergency situations, including fire alarms, according to procedure and with appropriate urgency.
• Responds immediately to emergency incidents and security requests as assigned.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates using radio equipment.
• Is courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing hotel policies and procedures.
• Records and reports unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property.
• Ensures protection and preservation of hotel, guest, and employee property.
• Maintains professional attitude and appearance.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience within hotels preferred.
• Stand and walk for extended periods or an entire shift.
• Effective communication by telephone, email, radio, and reporting.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
