The Demand & Inventory Planner facilitates material planning and inventory management for strategic analysis and execution of current and future fulfillment plans. This person will determine optimized inventory levels across the company to fulfill customer requirements and meet on-time delivery targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work proactively with functional teams (sales, engineering, service, production, inventory, purchasing, and warehouses) to identify variances for current and future demands.

Set and maintain inventory targets for optimum service levels for finished goods, customer consignment, and service centers.

Communicate conflicts and potential shortages; collaborate with various departments to minimize impact to customers and process efficiencies.

Monthly review of safety stock or reorder point levels; propose and execute upon approval. Use historical performance and future requirements to identify items needing stocking adjustments.

Create strategy for storage and distribution of parts for re-manufacturing, distribution, and sale.

Update and maintain safety stocks/reorder points in SAP.

Monthly inventory reporting for all sites using ERP or designated tools (e.g., Power BI).

Maintain inventory targets by reviewing and acting on excess stock, slow-moving, and obsolete items through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

Understand purchasing processes and generate reports to inform inventory decisions.

Gather master data and identify misalignments that generate shortages.

Identify opportunities for product rebalancing between sites.

Define requirements and setup processes to measure inventory turns.

Train cross-functional departments on inventory plans and material flow.

Analyze data and solve problems using tools such as Excel macros or Power BI.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience in inventory management software and tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices.

Experience in demand forecasting and inventory planning.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related field.

5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, product management, demand planning, or related fields.

SAP knowledge preferred.

Certifications APICS certification preferred (CPIM or CSCP) or enrolled to obtain.

Language Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reasoning Ability

Works on semi-routine assignments; ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices. Generally receives instruction for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments.

Tools and Equipment

Extensive computer use with Microsoft products and other standard office equipment.

Work Environment

May work in office, factory, or home settings. Home-based workers must comply with company requirements for core hours and in-person meetings or events.
