Job Description This position will be responsible for administrative management, staff development and technical claim results for the Chubb’s Direct Handle Commercial Claims Team. The individual will deliver excellent financial and service results and high quality product involving commercial bodily injury and property damage claims. The role also develops staff, succession planning and executes strategies to achieve goals and objectives. The ideal candidate ensures efficient consistent delivery of service to customers and business partners that meets or exceeds Chubb's standards and complies with all applicable statutes and regulations within the assigned jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Ensure high level of technical claim handling from professional claims staff

Interact with business management and direct leadership responsible for Commercial Casualty underwriting to communicate claim trends which impact the business

Ensure the commercial claims team operational activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, internal and external audits, compliance and privacy policies and procedures

Guide staff with the handling of commercial casualty claims, ensuring appropriate internal stakeholder coordination and execution

Analyze and provide appropriate direction on coverage and communicate coverage positions to appropriate parties

Provide outstanding customer service and works well with the insured, broker and TPA (when applicable) in the adjustment of claims

Set reserves within authority and make claim recommendations to senior management

Establish and maintain strong customer relations

Participate in regular and meaningful discussions with internal and external business partners

Skills Desired candidate is service-oriented and results-driven with excellent administrative, leadership and organizational skills. Candidate must make timely decisions. Experience in performance management, training, staff development and succession planning is a strong plus. Oversight of bodily injury and property damage claims ensuring consistent handling across all Chubb entities.

Qualifications

Ten or more years of experience as a claim professional with a high degree of competence in the handling of casualty claims

Strong presentation and negotiation skills

Experience with primary and excess bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims

Understanding of contractual indemnification issues and additional insured provisions

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with claimants, customers, insureds, brokers, attorneys, etc. in a positive manner concerning losses

Ability to motivate team members while working independently within authority

Experience in leadership and management roles

In-depth knowledge of adjustment processes, issues and trends in multiple lines of business

Demonstrated ability in dealing with coverage matters

Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures

Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources

Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with staff, customers and business partners in a professional manner

Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon complex loss scenarios
