Overview The Product Owner defines and prioritizes product requirements, partners with product management and engineering to develop and launch features, and ensures each release delivers clear value. This role shapes product direction through strategic vision, insight, and strong collaboration.

The Product Owner is responsible for identifying and managing product requirements, prioritizing the engineering team’s work on features and bugs, and supporting feature launch and rollout processes. The Product Owner holds the vision to be executed by the agile team and translates features into user stories through collaboration with product management and the engineering team. The role includes validating features before release and guiding the future direction of our products through analysis and communication.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for one or more of our development Agile teams

Create, maintain, prioritize and sequence the team backlog according to business value and existing commitments

Work with the Product and User Experience teams to provide detailed guidance and prioritization in an Agile environment

Elaborate Epics and Features into user stories that can be completed within a single sprint

Assist the product, engineering, and Scrum team during ceremonies by representing the voice of the customer and communicating the value behind each decision

Inspect product progress at the end of each Sprint to accept or reject work

Conduct user acceptance testing on features and bug fixes before release to ensure high quality

Communicate rollout plans, feature details, and bug status updates to Leadership, Customer Success, Support, and other stakeholders

Conduct stakeholder product training

Maintain compliant product documentation per SproutLoud standards

Make key decisions and judgments independently

Mentor other team members

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business

At least 5 years of software product experience, preferably in a SaaS environment

Demonstrated success defining and launching products

High energy, can-do attitude with willingness to do what it takes to get things done

Highly quantitative, analytical and business-minded

Ability to solve complex problems in an organized way

Attention to detail with ability to anticipate outcomes and assess risks

Comfortable working closely with Engineering and experience with Agile development teams

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with senior leadership

Not required, but a plus:

Knowledge of e-commerce, multichannel commerce, online retailing, website user experience, website testing, and related marketing strategies
