Overview
Metro Transit’s Safety, Security, and Quality Assurance Division seeks entry‑level safety professionals to join the team as Transit Operations Security Liaison Assistants for Bus Operations. These positions report to the SSQA Transit Safety & Security Superintendent. Responsibilities
Retrieve and process video footage from coach surveillance systems. Act as the primary liaison for transit employee safety and security concerns at operating bases. Enter and review safety and security reports in Metro’s safety data management system (Origami). Support the investigation and analysis of safety and security incidents. Participate in safety and security meetings for hazard identification and corrective action planning. Recommend tools and training to employees and ensure promotional materials are current. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualified Candidates
Current career service ATU 587 bargaining unit member. At least three (3) years of experience as a full‑time operator for King County Metro Transit. Exemplary attendance record. Current, unrestricted Washington Commercial Driver’s License: Class B, passenger endorsed, air brake restriction removed. Current CDL medical examiner’s card required. Knowledge of the bus operating environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy and completeness. Functional knowledge of Windows‑based computers and Microsoft Office programs. Desired Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of chain‑of‑custody procedures. Familiarity with Metro and ATU 587 agreements on video surveillance. Technical expertise in video surveillance systems. Knowledge of Metro’s fleet operations. Strong troubleshooting abilities. High emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset. Special Requirements
Willingness to work flexible shift times and occasional on‑call duties. Possession of a safety‑sensitive position may require random drug and alcohol testing. Must pass the King County Work Record Review during recruitment and at appointment. Application
