The Graduate Energy Consultant and Surveyor roles sit within the Energy element of the Savills Earth Division. Click here to hear more about our Energy pathway, from one of our current graduates. Savills Earth has over 90 energy and sustainability consultants across a UK network and is developing into the largest zero carbon department in a mainstream real estate practice. Our energy services include feasibility studies, energy audits and due diligence on proposed and operational sites, as well as valuations of energy assets, energy asset transactions, negotiating commercial contracts (Lease Agreements, Energy Supply Agreements, etc), identifying and securing land for energy developments, and providing strategic advice on energy, infrastructure, and property-related matters. As an Energy Team within a real estate company, our USP is understanding how land and property are used, the value attributed to real estate, and how low carbon energy solutions can enhance property values to justify investment in net zero solutions. We work in partnership with architects, planners, developers, funders and specialist engineering design firms to find net zero solutions that improve the social aspects of a project and enhance property values. Within Energy, we have roles this year available in London. As a graduate on the energy pathway, you will gain experience across a wider variety of service lines and skills, from energy audits on managed sites to research supporting a Director’s strategic advice on low carbon energy infrastructure of national importance. The breadth of experience includes technical, commercial and practical aspects of project delivery in the energy and real estate sectors. Surveying Graduates will qualify as a Chartered Surveyor via the RICS Land & Resources pathway (MRICS). Responsibilities
A good grasp of the fundamentals of energy systems from a higher education in engineering, science, surveying or another appropriate technical subject Comfortable with basic physics principles and mathematics Ability to empower those around them Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to consider commercial aspects of a project Ability to present and communicate information and analysis in a logical and engaging way Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Ability to automate computer-based processes High attention to detail, well organised and a proactive approach Ability to challenge in a positive way Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills A team player with leadership potential Strategic approach to problem solving Ability to listen to others and collaborate effectively Highly motivated Computer literate Ahead of anything else, we look for individualism and diversity in our graduate intake. Graduates attend technical, business skills and personal development activities, including conferences, courses, lectures, networking, mock assessments, revision sessions and social events. The programme supports both practical experience and the requirements of the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) qualification and the Assessments of Professional Competence for Chartered Surveyors under the RICS Land & Resources pathway (MRICS). You will have an APC supervisor and counsellor who support you throughout the two-year training programme, with regular progress reviews. Career Development
