Job Description
The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality control systems and protocols for the organization. Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure world-class quality standards are developed, maintained, and adhered to.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Review purchase order and blueprint notes and specifications for all special requirements applicable to the raw material casting.
Assures that all special requirements are part of the manufacturing process and inspection plans.
Coordinate requirements with materials test, non-destructive test and casting layout supervision, and coordinate and bring together all the test results, and associated paperwork required for manufacturing process sheets, inspection method sheets and nondestructive testing requirements.
Manage change processes, coordinating with all departments and functions to make revisions as necessary to assure conformance to purchase order and blueprint requirements.
Conduct documented system and job audits covering all plant departments and follow up on all required corrective action requests.
Establish priorities, work with Engineering, Quality Control and independently concentrate attention to "high risk" areas such as weld repair, surface blending at nondestructive testing, pre-finishing, etc. Review job routing, instruct personnel and establish written controls as required.
Visit customer facilities on quality related issues, as required.
Perform any other associated duties as directed by management.
Required Skills
Knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods are preferable.
Required Experience
2 years of quality engineering related experience.
Level Of Education
Preferred a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing Technology discipline; consider education and experience.
