$129,675.00 - $198,312.00 per year Duties
Perform analog and mixed signal circuit design, analysis, simulation, verification, and evaluation. Support successful integration of design blocks into larger mixed-signal systems. Drive the product development lifecycle, including defining product requirements, designing architectures while identifying underlying issues, and recommending solutions. Apply formal design and verification techniques, tools, and methodologies that yield designs which meet specified functional, power, or timing objectives. Function as the chip lead, setting project goals and addressing risks and timeline while supporting analog, digital, and layout designers to achieve design target objectives. Evaluate the physical implementation of design blocks by layout engineers to ensure physical design meets target performance and reliability metrics. Define system and integrated circuits test plans. Perform lab evaluation and debugging of performance issues; follow up on quality issues involving customer returns, QA failures, and test coverage issues. Experience may be gained in a PhD program. Must have a Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education equivalent). Alternatively, may have Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Mixed Signal Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related occupation performing integrated circuit development. Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated Expertise (DE) participating in all phases of new mixed signal product development (architecture selection, debugging, implementation, evaluation). DE analyzing functionality and behavior of transistor level circuit designs and applying strong device physics knowledge. DE in the following areas: Average current mode DC-DC converters, peak current mode converters, Buck- and Boost converters, Low Dropout linear regulators, Amplifiers, Bandgaps, comparators, and DACs. DE simulating and evaluating complex technical analog blocks and IC designs using CADENCE and SPICE-type simulation tools: Virtuoso, Spectre and post-layout extraction, ADEXL, MATLAB, Verilog/System-Verilog; and DE with AMS/System-Verilog modeling for mixed-signal verification.
