Job Overview

As Engineering Manager, you will develop industry‑leading concepts from ideation through prototyping, initial development, and final development. You will work directly with the Director of R&D and cross‑functional partners to drive projects from conception to commercialization and support future consumer products that exceed state‑of‑the‑art standards. Based out of Adventure Sports headquarters in Irvine, CA. Responsibilities

Lead product development and engineering for reservoirs, bottles, drinkware, and accessories. Provide strategic direction for platform‑level projects and 5‑year product planning. Present regular updates to cross‑functional and executive teams. Support CamelBak business unit operations and communications. Manage and mentor design and development engineers. Attract, develop, and retain top talent through coaching and stretch assignments. Direct internal and external resources for design, prototyping, tooling, and manufacturing. Oversee internal workload and external partnerships to ensure timely project delivery. Drive innovation and market leadership through cross‑functional collaboration. Brainstorm with Marketing and Design to generate creative concepts. Evaluate product success based on innovation, function, brand relevance, quality, and margins. Manage CAD and documentation processes for efficiency and accuracy. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (e.g., CE, CPSC). Manage product certifications and testing. Deeply understand and apply safety standards in design evaluations. Maintain continuous communication with overseas suppliers. Visit manufacturing facilities to support sampling, commercialization, and process improvement. Build strategic partnerships with key technology vendors. Manage costing processes, including PLM entries and vendor quotations. Oversee CAPEX tooling budgets and conduct NPV analyses. Contribute to annual budgeting and operate within defined budgets. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Brand Management to solve problems. Coordinate graphics development for timely sample delivery. Review and prioritize performance and styling goals in product design. Qualifications

5‑10 years minimum consumer product development/engineering experience. Enthusiastic and positive attitude with passion toward MX, MTB, and Action Sports; creative, forward‑thinking, high energy. Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD. Experience with injection molds, plastic parts, 3D modeling. Knowledge of plastics, textiles, and embellishment techniques. Previous development/engineering experience in helmets or molded plastic protective sport products (optional). Prior experience working with overseas factories and vendors (optional). Experience with compression molds and parts (optional). Pay Range

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. Benefits
