Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineer Co-op, Transportation, to join our team in Columbus. B&N Civil Engineer Co-op, Transportation Responsibilities Work with a team of experienced civil engineers to develop preliminary studies and construction plans on innovative transportation projects in Ohio Gain an understanding of roadway engineering design elements by assisting with calculating cost estimates, developing transportation plans, and utilizing geometric design techniques Develop CAD knowledge and plan production skills from Professional Engineers while becoming familiar with the consulting engineering community’s role in creating and enhancing the transportation systems of Ohio Learn the basics of industry specific 3D modeling design software Maintain quality control of the work products and successfully complete assigned tasks on time and within budget Skills & Qualifications You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree You have a strong interest in transportation engineering; previous co-ops are a plus Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word Proficiency or interest in learning PDF markup/review tools, such as BlueBeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD/Civil3D drawing software packages is a plus Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate, learn, and grow We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, age, national origin, disability status, marital status, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
