Electrical Engineer III — Medical Device R&D
Base pay range $115,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
Join a fast-growing medical-device innovator developing life‑sustaining implantable technologies. As an
Electrical Engineer III , you’ll drive design, verification, and validation of external control systems and supporting peripherals—batteries, chargers, power supplies, and user interfaces—in a multidisciplinary environment shaping the future of advanced cardiac support.
What You’ll Do
Lead design, analysis, and verification for key electrical subsystems (batteries, chargers, consoles, power electronics, and control systems).
Translate design inputs into testable system requirements and performance specifications.
Develop and execute verification & validation strategies, including defining test conditions, sample sizes, and acceptance criteria.
Design custom test fixtures, apparatus, and special tooling to support development.
Manage documentation—protocols, reports, and work instructions—aligned with design‑control and quality‑system standards.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure robust subsystem integration.
Partner with vendors and contract manufacturers for PCB fabrication and assembly.
Support risk‑management activities (DFMEA, hazard analysis) and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
4+ years’ experience designing, prototyping, and testing complex electronic circuits, components, and subsystems.
Hands‑on experience with both digital and analog hardware development.
Strong understanding of Li‑ion battery performance, safety, and power‑management systems.
Working knowledge of EMC design principles, test methods, and electromagnetic analysis.
Familiarity with medical‑device design controls (Class II/III) and standards such as IEC 60601‑1, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14708‑1/-5.
Skilled with test instrumentation—oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
Excellent documentation, organization, and cross‑functional communication skills.
