Purpose of Position Support daily production operations by applying electrical engineering principles and troubleshooting skills on a diverse range of electrical and electronic test equipment. Assist and perform multiple engineering assignments that require the application of diversified electrical/test engineering practices. As required, lead and/or assist test engineers in the design specifications to develop specific test systems for functional acceptance and verification of manufactured products. Develop skills to advance into more senior engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and evaluate production requirements for new or modified test equipment methods, processes, and procedures. Assist test engineers in the documentation and upkeep of test procedures and processes.

Develop and de-bug functional diagnostic programs for production test equipment and printed circuit boards (PCB’s).

Interface and provide technical support to production personnel for release of new test programs and procedures (hardware and software).

Design electronic or mechanical prototype test equipment, order parts and equipment as required, and complete documentation relating to project status, applications, repair, and etc.

Provide engineering support by troubleshooting problems and implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow.

Participate in new product development projects and interface with other departments during the development process to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position.

Troubleshoot and repair failed PCB’s and field warranty returns as directed.

Develop, implement and troubleshoot In-Circuit Test (ICT) testing for PCB’s.

Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.

Lead and participate in monthly Improvement Workshops (Kaizens).

Demonstrate the ability to perform as a self-starter to drive continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility.

Continually seek new opportunities to improve both processes and products.

Component level troubleshooting for PCBA’s and related test equipment to support production needs.

All other duties as assigned.

Background And Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering preferred, or an equivalent level of training and/or work experience.

Three (3) years to ten (10) years of specifically related experience.

Knowledge of GenRad systems, Visual Basic, or other software development tools would be beneficial.

Previous programming experience required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
