$98,000-$120,000 Job Objective Reporting directly to the Regional Director and/or the Director of Operations, the Water Operations Manager / Chief Plant Operator has full responsibility for the successful operation and maintenance of the assigned facility's wastewater and collection system. This is an active working leadership and operations position. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Manage facility treatment and distribution system operations Supervise and manage operation and maintenance personnel, including training, performance evaluations, hiring, and discipline Manage staff performing maintenance, repair, installation, and construction of water treatment and distribution systems, including wells, reservoirs, pumps, pump stations, pipes, valves, meters, tanks, equipment, and control systems. Inspect maintenance & repair of equipment for quality and standards compliance Implement and utilize the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for asset tracking Interact with regulatory agencies and clients Analyze and resolve process and equipment problems Review lab tests and interpret data Create and distribute reports for clients, regulators, and operations Prepare and coordinate regulatory programs as required by permits Maintain compliance with regulatory permits Oversee process adjustments to ensure treatment process compliance Perform other duties and support operations of other PERC Water facilities as needed Promote and adhere to PERC Water’s safety policies Maintain acceptable attendance standards Report issues to supervisor Perform additional tasks as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective supervision and interaction Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English Physical capabilities: standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing equipment Willingness to travel is a plus Mental skills: reading, writing, spelling, effective communication Education, Credentials, and Experience Valid California Grade D3 and T2 Certification or higher At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in water system operations Valid California Class C driver’s license Work Conditions Indoor and outdoor water treatment facility and distribution system environments
