Overview
HF Sinclair Midstream located in Artesia, NM is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer Specialist. This position provides Engineering/Technical support in pipeline integrity. This position will develop and/or enhance the existing processes and assist with developing a consistent approach to pipeline integrity. Responsibilities
Collects, integrates and analyzes technical data and information associated with Integrity Assessments/Inspections and Risk Analysis. Supports continued development of Risk Analysis processes, procedures and applications. Supports integrating Integrity risk analysis results into the Company Risk Management program. Provides mentoring and training for less experienced field and office Integrity Specialist positions responsible for Pipeline risk, data collection, data analysis and mitigation efforts. Represents the Company’s Integrity program during Regulatory Audits. Coordinates Integrity activities with other Integrity Management and Company departments and functions. Implements Company Integrity Management Plan processes and procedures, staying current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods and repair methods. Evaluates ongoing Company’s Pipeline Integrity Management Plan, as well as standards, forms and procedures to support the IMP and make recommendations for improvement. Develops systematic, comprehensive and integrated approaches to proactively counter threats to pipeline integrity. Responsible for providing technical support in the evaluation of integrity assessment results to identify necessary remediation. Provides input into new construction pipelines and due diligence to support Pipeline Integrity efforts. Completes Integrity Management program performance reports. Oversees third party analysis resulting from integrity related incidents. Interfaces with all parts of the organization involved with Integrity Management, including vendors and contractors. Provides training for inexperienced personnel as needed. Communicates technical requirements for field projects such as pipeline inspections and assessments which include data collection, coordination of resources and equipment utilization. Supports and coordinates technology development for pipeline operations, inspection and integrity (e.g., GIS, In line inspection and corrosion monitoring technology). Maintains knowledge and understanding of current practices and news related to pipeline technologies, compliance, and regulations. Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion. Experience
A minimum of eight years’ experience in the oil and gas industry is required, preferably within the Mid-stream pipeline operating industry. Demonstrated analytical capability in previous positions. Applies engineering risk assessment principles toward integrated, data-driven, and quantified safety, Integrity and reliability assessments. Preferred Experience:
Experience in In-Line-Inspection, Corrosion Prevention, Risk Analysis, and Data Management is preferred. Education
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, API, AAMP or other technical industry Certifications/Training with verifiable work history in lieu of a degree, is required. Preferred Education:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgy) with API and AAMP certifications. Required Skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Effective problem solver and troubleshooter; good analytical and abstract thinker and ability to use evaluation techniques. Strong technical and project management. Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Project, Visio. Working knowledge of GIS. Advanced working knowledge of design, construction and operation of transmission, storage and distribution pipeline facilities. Ability to process information quickly and develop rapport with HF Sinclair employees and contractors. The ability to effectively communicate to others, both written and verbal; intermediate reading and writing skills; and the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations. Preferred Skills/Certifications:
Understanding of pipeline inspection techniques and results, corrosion prevention methods, risk analysis methodologies and Risk Management principles. Proven ability to utilize data management systems with an interest in technology solutions. Training and expertise in In-Line Inspection technologies, data analysis and risk analysis are preferred. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May be a lead for other employees. Work Conditions
Office based with up to 30% travel by land or air is required. Pipeline, Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant based, and outdoor environment including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment and working in confined spaces.
