CNC Team Leader (2nd Shift) Summary
The CNC Team Leader’s primary responsibility is to support the team to minimize scrap and maximize productivity. The Team Leader closely monitors the quality of parts produced by operators and facilitates actions to keep processes running as described in the Standard Work for this position, ensuring parts move efficiently through the department. The Team Leader has strong measurement and organizational skills and will provide support to develop talent, skills and confidence in all team members. The Team Leader duties take precedence over other tasks, though other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Monitor/coach team members to ensure compliance with all quality systems and ISO requirements, including first piece inspection, in-process QC documentation, lot traceability, tagging scrap and rework, and bin-to-bag technique. Check parts produced by team members to ensure quality meets requirements. Ensure operators use documented quality inspection methods and record inspection results at prescribed frequencies. Alert the Department Manager to problems with quality processes, documentation, equipment, materials, or labor. Note: all changes require approval. The CSO is the tool to use for any change on the production floor. Proficient in inspection techniques including blueprint interpretation, micrometer, dial caliper, optical comparator, drop indicators, special quality fixtures, and laser micrometer. Tend to team members to keep processes running and flow parts to completion. Support the Department Manager in making schedule assignments based on Velocity Board priority. Coach operators to use the Velocity Board correctly (initialing Time Travelers, marking completion, labeling Batch Labor Tickets, and moving parts when Time Traveler Quantity is reached). Facilitate troubleshooting and evaluate workflow to achieve run standards; request assistance from Production Engineering Support, QC, Administration, and Management as needed. Motivate team members, create shift run plans to help operators hit quality and quantity goals. Keep work area orderly and clean after each shift to maintain a professional appearance. Ensure safe work practices and report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately. Do not operate equipment that is unsafe or missing guards or safety devices. Demonstrate ethical and professional conduct, respect fellow workers and property, and uphold Tri-Mack core values (Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability, Durability). Adhere to all AS9100 requirements per work instructions. Education, Skills & Experience
High School diploma or GED required. 3+ years of supervisory experience in a CNC manufacturing setting with leadership by example to promote quality and safety. Leadership and team-building skills; ability to motivate and inspire others. Experience with ERP systems is beneficial but not required; Infor Visual Manufacturing is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing environment; strong blueprint interpretation, tolerance specifications, and GD&T knowledge. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills; ability to handle multiple priorities. Proven problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to use and understand measuring tools; working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Dependability, effective communication, teamwork and support for others as needed. Our Benefits
