Overview
Role: Construction Supervisor (AOR) – Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII. Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process, define project scope, goals and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedule. Responsibilities
Manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and work is performed as scheduled within contract specifications. Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems that could risk critical path work. Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance within AOR, including overtime requirements and identification/management of cost drivers. Assess growth work and/or contract funded point changes to ensure funding is authorized and work is integrated within schedule. Identify impact and potential risks and devise contingency plans. Perform inspections (e.g., preliminary structural, tank/void, yard final, turnover inspections, and test inspections) and document discrepancies for correction. Assess safety risks within AOR and develop mitigation plans as appropriate. Must Have
2 years Foreman experience OR Apprentice Graduate OR Military E-6 and above OR BS in Engineering or Construction/Project Management 4 years exempt related experience (Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, Merchant Marine) 6 years non-exempt professional experience Nice to Have
