Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer / Advanced Electrical Engineer position. We are seeking a skilled Advanced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize complex electrical systems. As an Advanced Electrical Engineer for the Progeny Systems Business Area, you’ll be a member of or lead a cross functional team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics and underwater acoustic systems. CL - Advanced Electrical Engineer What You\'ll Do

Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, power, analog-to-digital conversion, transformers, inductors, amplifiers, and communication Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems Design and build prototype cable assemblies Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer Generate design and interface documentation What We\'re Looking For

Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field Requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master\'s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience Working knowledge of the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation and test phases Working knowledge of op-amps and transistors Experience with analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles Experience with transformers and inductors, and how to size them including key parameters such as flux density, magnetizing current, leakage inductance, transformer and inductor losses and temperature rise Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and collaboration with the PCB layout team Familiarity with underwater acoustic principles Strong documentation and communication skills Experience with battery systems, electric motors, and MATLAB programming is a plus Workplace

This position is fully on-site in Middletown, RI; hybrid/flex may be an option moving forward.
