Overview
Engineer II-Product (NPI & Sustaining) at Microchip Technology Inc. This onsite role reports to the Mount Holly Springs facility and supports NPI and sustaining engineering efforts in both VOP facilities in Mount Holly Springs, PA and Neckarbischofsheim, Germany. Responsibilities
Tracking and coordination of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process including the business case, design verification, design validation and launch of new products. Coordinate bi-weekly cross-functional team meetings (engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, logistics, marketing) to ensure all aspects of the product launch are on track. Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Serve as a point of contact between product development and production teams. Support pre-production builds and pilot runs. Ensure readiness of production lines, tools, and processes before full-scale manufacturing begins. Facilitate design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) feedback. Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure timely implementation. Track revision levels of parts and products throughout the NPI process. ECO, End of Life (EOL) Component Qual, BOM maintenance, Yield Enhancements, MRB. Failure Analysis, Problem Solving, Customer Escalations, Supplier Yield issues. Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure materials and equipment are ready for production. Monitor test runs and first article inspections. Track and escalate production issues during pilot phases. Requirements/Qualifications
Required: US Person Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronic technology Minimum of 3-4 years engineering experience in the electronics industry Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and product development Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project) Self-driven to lead and complete projects within established commitment times Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with cross functional teams Preferred: Quartz crystal oscillator experience Familiarity with relevant military and space standards (MIL-PRF-55310, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-883) Knowledge of electronics theory, specifically analog and digital circuits and components used within RF signal generation and wave shaping U.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States. Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3). Travel Time
