Pay Rate:
$132,346.00 / annually (Minimum) to $200,505.00 / annually (Maximum). Initial salary is negotiable between $132,346.00 - $158,545.37, based on experience and education. Reports To:
Manager of Vehicle Systems Engineering or designee. Location:
Hayward Shop. Responsibilities
Perform complex repair, overhaul, and evaluation of transit vehicles and systems. Develop technical specifications and oversee testing of transit vehicle components. Support shop operations, review technical documentation, and participate in design review meetings. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with engineering standards. Train staff and operate mechanical testing equipment. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Three years of experience in mechanical transit vehicle systems engineering. Preferred Qualifications
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification. Additional Requirements
Ability to work in shop and field environments, including physical activities. Knowledge & Skills
Extensive knowledge of transit vehicle systems, design principles, safety practices, and related regulations. Skills in troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication. Equal Opportunity
