TAI Engineering . TAI’s Electrical Services Division provides quality support to assure the reliability of industrial electrical systems. Our electricians and technicians provide the experience and knowhow to support facilities in a safe and cost-effective manner, 24/7/365. TAI’s capabilities include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, turnkey, design-build, electrical surveying, and data collection. TAI’s Specialty Construction (SCI) group has an immediate need for Journeymen Electricians. Must be proficient in troubleshooting AC/DC control circuits and instrumentation with ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics. Candidates must have prior industrial/manufacturing experience, specifically installing and running rigid conduit. Here’s a glimpse into the day-to-day responsibilities and qualifications for this role.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including installing (rigid) conduit and wiring, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters and temporary wiring setups.

Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions to maintain equipment in an operational state.

Maintain and repair plant instrumentation.

Develop wiring diagrams as necessary.

Use precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter, etc.

Install, maintain and repair cranes, elevators, power doors, hoists and related equipment.

Perform all aspects of maintaining overhead crane systems.

Complete records and inventory of supplies necessary for performance of jobs.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical devices and other equipment.

Maintain personal work tools.

Perform other duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability.

Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum of journeymen papers for electrician or 5 years industrial electrician experience.

Complete knowledge of current and voltage characteristics (single phase, 3 phase, 110v, 220v, 440, 12.5kV and DC voltage).

Working knowledge of solid state circuitry and programmable controllers.

Knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes.

Proven ability to work in a safe manner and adhere to safe practices.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client sites. Sites are primarily around Baltimore and occasionally surrounding areas (DC, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, etc.).

OSHA 10 certification is required or ability to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Must be able to move about client facilities to access equipment and complete tasks.

Ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various heights (some over 25 feet) safely.

Ascend and descend a large number of stairways as needed.

Move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs across client facilities; occasionally lift and move equipment over 100 lbs.

Work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $27-37/hour (based on experience).

Annual profit sharing bonus (variable).
