Job Description:
Essential Tasks
You will play a key role in creating engaging and hands-on environmental experiences. Your responsibilities will include:
Organizing, delivering, and evaluating 100 educational programs focused on Florida's vital natural resources (land, air, soil, water) for students in grades K-12 through on-site and outreach programs.
Utilizing 4-H Environmental Education curriculums that foster a love for the environment and learning.
Collaborating with fellow team members to create a lasting, positive impact on our Florida youth.

Onboarding &Training
Your journey with us begins with comprehensive onboarding focused on crucial areas such as UF Human Resources, 4-H Standards, Youth Protection, and grant expectations
Orientation and mid-year training are required and will include overnight travel
Training
Experiential Learning: You will learn how to make education engaging and actionable
Behavior Modification Techniques: Equip you with strategies to guide the youth effectively
Ongoing Professional Development: Monthly check-ins and continuous training based on member needs
Environmental Education: You will learn a myriad of curriculum based on Florida's natural ecosystems
Grant standards training
Evaluations and Reporting Your performance will be monitored through mid-term and end-of-term evaluations to ensure a high-quality educational delivery. You will be responsible for bi-weekly timesheet reporting, monthly data reports, and quarterly narrative reports of educational programs delivered. ablanton@ufl.edu , (850) 897-2224 On-site Supervisor: Bill Tillet, 4-H Camp Cloverleaf Camp Director, wtillett@ufl.edu , (863) 840-9988 Length of position September 2025 - July 2026 (hiring is on a rolling basis; members will be onboarded as available) Grant Funded positions can serve as a Full-time (1700 hrs), Three-Quarters Time (1200 hrs), Half-time (900 hrs), or One-Quarter Time (450 hrs) Member. Service hours will vary depending on when you start the service year. Typically, M-F, 8-5. Some night and weekend work may be required.
Expected Salary:
Biweekly living stipend range $760-$860
Minimum Requirements:
A High School diploma or its equivalent is the minimum requirement. Must pass a Background Screening before hire. Valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in education, natural resources, youth development, science, recreational leadership, or related fields. Experience with environmental education and educating youth Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to teach pre-designed environmental education curricula to a diverse age group Strong and effective oral and written communication with both large and small groups A passion for customer service and environmental education
