At least 4 years of full-time experience working in an industrial mill setting as an Electrical or Electrical Project Engineer. Experience on projects with an operating company or engineering firm as part of a team is considered an asset. Experience in construction management and/or maintenance experience in industrial/process plant environment. Ability to read blueprints and other diagrams. Excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software such as AutoCAD, SAP, MS Office and scheduling software. This Senior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the business in accomplishment of objectives by participating in the management of day-to-day execution of major capital and expense projects. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible to ensure all strategies, capital planning, engineering, procurement, and construction is done in the safest and cost-effective manner and assuring that capital projects comply with all government and company standards, policies, and regulation. Responsibilities
Ensure EHS compliance in all project phases, including contractors and vendors. Develop and manage detailed project plans, focusing on HSE compliance. Perform process and design engineering, including PFDs, P&IDs, and cost estimates. Lead projects and guide teams to meet milestones. Communicate project status to executives and stakeholders. Conduct cost-benefit analyses and recommend process improvements. Negotiate contracts and supervise third-party contractors. Provide technical support and solve operational issues. Prepare specifications, design, and manage procurement. Oversee capital projects, including installation and commissioning. Administer contracts and perform equipment inspections. Seniority level
