Our client delivers comprehensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering services for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry in Indiana. Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems Perform site visits, field surveys, and electrical system assessments to support design and construction phases Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure coordinated design solutions Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with applicable codes and standards Participate in project meetings and communicate design intent clearly to clients and stakeholders Support construction administration activities such as reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and performing site inspections Assist in mentoring junior staff and reviewing their design work for accuracy and code compliance Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 4–8 years of experience in electrical design for building systems (commercial or institutional preferred) Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit Solid understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and applicable building codes Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team EIT certification required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe Familiarity with energy efficiency, sustainable design practices, and LEED documentation is a plus Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company matching Paid time off (PTO), holidays, and sick leave Continuing education and professional development support Reimbursement for licensing exams, certifications, and industry memberships Employee wellness programs and resources Opportunities for career growth within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment If you are interested in an Electrical Engineer position with our client please apply now or email liv.messum@thomasyounggroup.com to arrange a call!
