Job Description The Evaluator will have the skills to complete the following tasks. Inspect, assess and determine the airworthiness of aircraft components, ensuring they meet safety standards by identifying defects, wear and tear, damage, AD and ASB requirements and verifying proper repair or replacement. This will require detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals and regulations, as well as proficiency with inspection tools and techniques.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Visual inspections: Thoroughly examine aircraft parts for cracks, corrosion, dents, warping and other visible damage using visual aids and specialized lighting.

Able to locate delaminations / voids in metal to metal and composite bonded parts.

Dimensional Checks: Measuring critical dimensions of parts to ensure they fall within specified tolerances using measuring tools (Calipers & Micrometers).

Material Analysis: Identify material types and composition of parts to verify compliance with specifications.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspection findings, including part numbers, condition, repair recommendations and any non- conformance reports.

Technical Interpretation: Reading and understanding aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives to determine proper repair procedures and acceptance criteria.

Collaboration with Mechanics: Communicate inspection results to aircraft mechanics, recommending necessary repairs or part replacements.

Education and Training

Must be 18 years or older and legally allowed to work in the U.S.

High school graduate or equivalent.

Ability to read blueprints, specifications, technical manuals and test equipment procedures. Must be able to understand, read and write English.

Experience, Skill and Knowledge

3 years’ experience performing in a Repair Station environment.

Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) license: A&P preferred

Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations 14 CFR § 145.155.

Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed. (see, 14 CFR § 145.155)

Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected 14 CFR § 145.155.

Thorough understanding of aircraft systems: Familiarity with various aircraft components: Flaps, Ailerons, Spoilers and Thrust Reversers.

Technical knowledge of materials: Knowledge of different materials used in aircraft construction: Aluminum, composites and Steel.

Inspection technique proficiency: Expertise in using inspection tools and methods: Borescopes.

Attention to detail: Ability to meticulously identify minor defects during inspections.

Problem-solving skills: Analyzing inspection findings and determining appropriate actions to address issues.

Physical Requirements

Requires lifting of items weighing up to sixty (60) pounds on an occasional basis.

Requires physical effort associated with standing / walking / sitting.
