This role combines two positions: The Pastoral Assistant (20-29 hours) and the Director of Music/Assistant Pastor of Music (15-20 hours). Position Overview:
This position combines two roles. The Pastoral Assistant (20-29 Hours)
will support the senior pastor and other ministry leaders in day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks, pastoral care, and ministry coordination to enable church leadership to focus on spiritual needs. Responsibilities include office management, communication, event planning, and elements of pastoral care and leadership. The Director of Music/Assistant Pastor of Music (15-20 Hours)
will lead the congregation in worship through music, ensuring worship services are spiritually vibrant and edifying. This role requires spiritual maturity, musical skill, leadership ability, and a passion for fostering Christ-centered disciples and a healthy worship culture. (See specific responsibilities below). Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support: Assist the senior pastor with scheduling meetings, appointments, and church-related events. Prepare and proofread correspondence and other church communications as requested. Manage the church calendar and ensure that all meetings and events are organized efficiently. Maintain and organize church files, including member records, event details, and important documents. Handle church-related office tasks such as managing phone calls, emails, and regular mail. Pastoral Care: Assist the senior pastor in providing pastoral care to church members, including making phone calls and sending emails to those in need, as well as occasional visitations. Coordinate and schedule pastoral care visits, ensuring members receive appropriate support during difficult times. Organize and assist in meetings for church members as needed (under the guidance of the senior pastor). Worship Service and Event Coordination: Support planning and execution of worship services, including service flow, volunteer coordination, and communication with worship teams. Assist in organizing church events, programs, and activities, including conferences, retreats, and community outreach initiatives. Help prepare for and coordinate special services (e.g., baptisms, weddings, funerals, communion services). Communication and Outreach: Assist with church communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and social media content. Manage church databases, keeping contact information for members, volunteers, and visitors up-to-date. Support development and implementation of outreach programs, helping connect with the community and engage new members. Respond to inquiries from church members and the community in a timely and professional manner. Volunteer Coordination: Assist in recruiting, scheduling, and managing volunteers for church services, events, and ministries. Maintain records of volunteer participation and ensure volunteers are properly trained and equipped for their roles. Foster positive relationships with volunteers and encourage ongoing engagement in the life of the church. Leadership Support: Provide administrative support to other pastoral staff and ministry leaders as needed. Assist in preparing reports, documents, and other materials for church leadership meetings. Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions about church activities, programs, and goals. General Office Management: Help ensure the church office runs smoothly, including front desk, managing supplies, equipment, and technology needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, church members, and vendors during office hours. Maintain office organization and ensure that all files and materials are properly stored and accessible. Qualifications
Spiritual Maturity:
A committed Christian with a deep personal relationship with Christ and a solid understanding of biblical teachings. Experience:
Previous experience in church administration, ministry, or a related field is preferred. Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with church members, staff, and the public. Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently, with attention to detail. Confidentiality:
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Canva) and church management software (e.g., Planning Center, or similar systems). Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support others in their roles. Pastoral Sensitivity:
Demonstrated empathy and pastoral sensitivity when interacting with individuals in need of care and support. Personal Attributes

Develop and implement a comprehensive worship strategy that aligns with the church’s mission, vision, and theological values. Ensure the worship experience is spiritually vibrant, welcoming, and engaging. Select songs and coordinate worship sets reflecting the church's style and convictions. Worship Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor musicians, vocalists, and other worship team members. Coordinate rehearsals to ensure team readiness for services. Foster a healthy and supportive environment within the worship team. Provide individual and group training for team members on musical and spiritual growth. Worship Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with the senior pastor and other ministry leaders to align worship with sermon themes and events. Plan worship services, including selecting songs, preparing liturgies, and coordinating with technical teams (e.g., AV). Manage the worship ministry calendar for regular services and special events. Spiritual Leadership: Provide spiritual guidance to the worship team, modeling worship, discipleship, and church values. Foster prayer, reflection, and worship within the team and congregation. Administrative Duties: Manage the worship ministry budget and volunteers. Oversee purchasing and upkeep of worship equipment. Prepare and submit ministry reports as needed. Professional Development: Seek training and growth in musical, spiritual, and leadership areas. Evaluate services and events for improvement; participate in service reviews with the Senior Pastor. Pastoral Care: Be available to pray for and care for the worship ministry and congregation as needed. Qualifications (Music)
