Maintenance Manager – SLC, UT Plant About The Role Bridor USA is launching a brand-new industrial bakery in Salt Lake City, and we’re seeking a skilled

Automation Technician

to join our team and help bring this state-of-the-art facility to life! This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automated production and utilities systems, ensuring operational excellence, product quality, and regulatory compliance from day one. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and includes hands-on training at our other North American facilities in Vineland, NJ; and Boucherville, Canada. Candidates must be able to travel approximately every two weeks until the Salt Lake City plant becomes fully operational in early 2026. Key Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, conveyors, and packaging equipment Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration of control systems and instrumentation Support production by diagnosing and resolving automation-related issues to minimize downtime Collaborate with production, QA, and engineering teams to ensure systems meet food safety and operational standards Modify and optimize control logic to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency Maintain accurate records of system changes, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation Ensure all work complies with GMP, HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, and other food safety standards Assist in the commissioning and integration of new automation technologies and equipment Qualifications & Experience

Degree or technical certification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation within a food manufacturing or regulated processing environment Hands-on experience with automated packaging lines, robotics, or vision inspection systems Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and industrial networking Strong understanding of food-grade equipment, sanitary design, and clean-in-place (CIP) systems Knowledge of Mitsubishi, B&R, Tele-Mecanique, Wonderware software, and motor drives (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Lenze, SWE) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals Skills & Competencies

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities Autonomy, flexibility, and creative thinking in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Exposure to machinery, noise, and temperatures ranging from blast freezers to boiler rooms Standing, walking, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting may be required Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts as needed Why Bridor USA
