Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer , we’ll count on you to help design and deliver transmission line projects, coordinate with engineering staff, clients, and project managers, and contribute to project success across power transmission initiatives. Responsibilities
Perform routine and detailed design tasks. Perform analysis, engineering calculations, and develop construction documents for a variety of structures. Lead transmission line design projects and coordinate with engineering staff, clients, and project managers. Assist in verifying code compliance, quality checks, meeting project schedules and budget, and coordinate civil/structural work with other disciplines and CAD designers. Possess experience or willingness to perform civil design for site utilities and overhead lines. Contribute to conceptual and detailed design activities for power, industrial and institutional projects. Communicate effectively, work in a team-oriented manner, and demonstrate analytical and organizational skills. Conduct analyses to develop design options and assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications. Participate in field reviews or construction observation. May serve as a project manager for transmission line projects. Preferred Qualifications
Due to client contract requirements, US-born citizenship is required. Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering. 10+ years of transmission line design experience. Experience in all aspects of line design including PLSCADD, structure analysis, cost estimates, plan and profile preparation, optimization, specifications and drawings for power transmission line projects through 500kV. Overhead transmission experience preferred; underground transmission experience helpful. Experience with Microsoft Office and related engineering/CAD software as appropriate. Project engineering and project management experience. Preference given to local candidates. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS CADD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit). Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.
