Arcadis is currently searching for a

Project/Senior Mechanical Engineer

to support our growing energy team. This position can be based in any Northeast U.S. location (New York or surrounding states). The role will help grow and deliver engineering design, energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization, commissioning, renewable generation and other clean energy and energy-related projects throughout the U.S., but will be primarily focused in the Northeast U.S. We are looking for dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions in solving problems for our clients. Collaborating with our experienced professionals, you will support the development of projects; interact and work with clients and develop your technical capabilities. Role accountabilities

As a Project/Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting or leading the execution and delivery of projects with a primary focus on the HVAC and plumbing design of systems identified through energy audits and aimed at supporting facility- or enterprise-wide decarbonization strategies. Your role will involve reviewing building and energy codes, performing load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, systems evaluation, and HVAC design and specifications. Proficiency in using AutoCAD or Revit for project drawings is essential. You will also be involved in supporting the commissioning and construction management of energy efficiency projects to ensure systems meet the owner's project requirements and comply with building codes. In addition, you will gather information, evaluate, analyze, and support the visualization of energy use data. Your tasks will include completing energy efficiency, distributed generation, and alternative energy calculations, building and system modeling, and conducting technical and financial calculations. You will perform or oversee engineering analyses, modeling, and calculations to support the execution and delivery of feasibility studies, energy audits, sustainability plans, and detailed designs. Field activities associated with clean energy projects such as energy audits, lighting inventories, implementation oversight, and measurement and verification are also part of your responsibilities. Supporting business growth through the successful delivery of projects, developing technical approaches for scopes of work, and maintaining a commitment to client satisfaction are key aspects of this role. You will correspond with task managers, project managers, project teams, and clients to ensure smooth project execution. Additionally, you will provide technical and business mentorship to junior staff, manage project schedules, and oversee budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects. Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and construction related field. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree with proven work experience. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of prior work experience in consulting engineering or other business working in the MEP or clean energy sectors. PE, CEM or LEED AP certification or other engineering- or energy-related accreditation, certification or training. Experience or keen interest in project management and project delivery. Key skills and attributes

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; solid work ethic. Excellent written and verbal communication; self-motivated and team-oriented; able to work independently and in a team. Ability to mentor and support staff growth; flexible with assignments and proactive in taking on new projects and challenges. Dependable and able to take ownership of tasks; comfortable with a mix of office work, field assignments, and travel. Knowledge of engineering concepts related to building and mechanical systems, energy efficiency, and other clean energy technologies; knowledge of building control systems is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit experience is an advantage. Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this position is

$107,200-$201,700 . Actual salaries vary based on factors including experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location. Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.
