Summary The Manufacturing Machining Engineer Technician supports daily manufacturing operations with a focus on process efficiency/improvement, cost reduction, and quoting new work opportunities. This role involves CNC programming, tooling, prototyping, and process optimization for machining metals and alloys. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Supports daily operations in providing cost effective solutions

Delivers process improvements/cost savings

Cycle time reduction

Tooling cost out

Set-up reduction

Process Capability

Supports in quoting new business opportunities

Develops and supports implementing error proofing in continuous improvement projects using root cause/corrective action tools

Leads in providing prototypes and pre-series samples on new programs, and supports in launching of new products during APQP

Writes, uploads, and proofs out CNC programs

Liaison for tooling and machining suppliers

Supports in process plans, BOMs, routings, purchasing requisitions, PFMEA, and safety initiatives

· Follows all safety, environment and quality procedures and instructions.

Requirements Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that regularly requires at least 40 hours per week.

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years professional experience in manufacturing machining

Subject matter expertise in the following manufacturing processes:

CNC Milling and Turning (standard and multi axis)

Broaching, Shaping, Spline Rolling, and Hobbing

CNC Grinding (ID, OD, Centerless, Surface)

Heat Treatments

Machining experience with metals/alloys such as aluminum, steel, cast iron, powder/sintered metal

CAD/CAM experience

PPAP experience

Fixture designing (manual & hydraulic)

Problem solving techniques (six sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, PFMEA)

Proficient with interpretation and application of GD&T
