Accessories Designer (Contract) – New York, NY (Onsite) Russell Tobin is supporting a leading retail client in their search for an Accessories Designer to join the team on a contract basis. This role will specifically support the Accessories Design team, contributing across multiple product categories including handbags, keychains, socks, scarves, jewelry, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accessories designer to develop commercial, trend-right products in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Pay range:
$29.00/hr – $37.00/hr (W2, depending on experience) Base pay range

Full-time, onsite in New York, NY Responsibilities
Create brand-right, commercial designs that align with conceptual direction and business strategy. Develop accessories with a focus on style, functionality, and material execution. Deliver designs with precision, balancing speed, agility, and attention to detail. Execute sketches and prototypes, providing clear specifications for development. Adapt designs based on feedback and finalize product concepts. Present designs to leadership and cross-functional partners, communicating trend insights and market awareness. Anticipate customer needs and identify trends through research and competitor analysis. Collaborate with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure cohesive execution. Provide guidance and support to junior design talent when necessary. Identify opportunities to improve processes for greater efficiency and speed. Ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget while maintaining design quality. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of accessories design experience in a comparable retail environment (required). Strong portfolio demonstrating original design sketches and successful product lines. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience with Centric PLM is a plus. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas. Flexible, proactive, and solutions-oriented with strong collaboration skills. Highly motivated and results-driven with a strong attention to detail. Ability to travel moderately within the U.S. (minimal international).
