Responsibilities

Responsible for safely and effectively fabricating, repairing, and maintaining production fixtures, carriers, and special projects to support department goals. Weld metal components to fabricate custom fixtures or repair products such as machine parts and plant fixtures. Understand welding procedures and safety protocols; work as part of a team under supervision of the area leader. Assist in design and fabrication in a fast-paced environment as needed.

Qualifications

Experience with welding, primarily MIG welding; ability to use welding equipment and power tools. Ability to follow prints and specifications to ensure correct welding; weld steel products such as beams, plates, rods, and other structural components. 2+ years of welding experience, preferably in a steel manufacturing environment; ability to interpret manuals, prints, and technical drawings. High School Diploma or equivalent; forklift training and lean training per programs; valid driver’s license.

Essential Functions

Ability to fit and fabricate as an experienced welder. Safely perform tasks with hand tools and power tools; complete required safety trainings. Operate in a team environment and maintain a focus on safety and quality.

Working Conditions

May be exposed to outside conditions and work from lifts and ladders. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet conditions; use of Personal Protective Equipment required.

Position Type/Hours

This is a full-time hourly position. Hours and days vary to support operations; some Saturdays may be required.
