QA/Test Automation Engineer (DevOps Affinity – IoT & Cloud Systems) (m/f/d) role at Next Level Coffee GmbH. You ensure the reliability and quality of our connected espresso ecosystem across app, machine and cloud. As part of our cross-functional development team, you shape the test automation pipeline, strengthen our release confidence and support the integration of test logic in embedded, app and cloud components. Responsibilities
Driving test automation across mobile (Flutter), embedded (Yocto/C++) and cloud (Kubernetes/Docker) systems Collaborating with developers and product owners to define test cases and QA workflows Operating and enhancing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) with test feedback loops Designing and executing manual and automated system, integration and regression tests Supporting device-level and network-level quality scenarios (e.g., OTA, connectivity robustness) Shaping the architecture of our QA ecosystem by selecting, integrating and maintaining tools and frameworks (e.g., Flutter integration_test, Postman/Newman, Appium, k6, PyTest) Establishing cross-platform testing strategies that bridge app, cloud and embedded logic to ensure end-to-end quality Contributing to observability and reporting via tools like Allure, Sentry, or custom test dashboards What you will achieve after 6 months
Established stable, automated test coverage across app and backend interfaces Introduced test coverage insights into CI/CD workflows and QA metrics Ability to test and debug across embedded and mobile platforms Active contribution to at least one major app/cloud/machine release cycle with QA validation and insights Created a modular and scalable QA architecture that supports fast iterations and long-term reliability What you need for this role
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably across embedded, app and backend systems Proficiency with test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Docker) Hands-on experience with QA in modern tech stacks (e.g., Flutter, REST APIs, Linux-based embedded systems) Familiarity with tools and languages like flutter_test, integration_test, Appium, Postman/Newman, PyTest, k6, and scripting in Python, JavaScript or Dart Strong communication skills in English; German skills are a plus Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid setup, combining remote work with regular on-site presence (approx. 4–6 days per month) in Konstanz for hardware testing, team alignment, and collaborative debugging What we deliver on
