– Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) in the Research Office Information Technology Division. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). ARL is a DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply. Location: State College, PA (on-site with the possibility of some hybrid on-site/work-from-home). Some travel to remote locations for testing may be required, generally less than 1% of the time. You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Provide a broad scope of technical support for research related operations Ensure IT hardware and software follow proper system design, operations, configurations, and maintenance Generate and maintain system and process documentation Provide general consultative services to researchers on a broad scope of technology Provide field testing support at off-site locations Additional responsibilities for higher level positions

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree for the Professional level. Additional experience and/or education are required for higher level positions. Required skills/experience

Advanced Linux and Windows administration and support Fundamental understanding of networking concepts and technologies Experience with broad scope of IT hardware (server, workstation, networking, peripherals, etc.) Past success in a customer service focused role Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences in written and verbal form Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to leverage them to resolve technical and procedural issues Preferred skills/experience

Familiarity with DCSA, DoD, and/or IC Authorization to Operate processes, procedures and frameworks Containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Rancher, etc.) CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) Automation and management of Linux and Windows system configurations with scripting, policy, and management tools (shell scripting, Satellite, Puppet, Ansible, MCM, system and group policy, etc.) Vulnerability and security scanning tools (ACAS, Nessus, SCC, Trivy, Grype, SCAP, OpenSCAP, Evaluate STIG, etc.) Commercial, government, and DoD cloud computing environments Support of research computing environments and projects Knowledge of general scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.) Active security clearance, at the Secret level or higher Additional information

Your working location will be on-site, located in State College, PA. There is the possibility of some hybrid on-site/work from home. This position may require periodic travel to remote locations in support of testing, but that will generally be limited in scope to less than 1% of the time. The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
