Tool & Die Specialist
role at
Kinetico Incorporated The Tool & Die Specialist works under limited supervision to performs precision machining operations for the machine shop.
Compensation:
Non-exempt hourly pay based on experience. OT and Performance Bonus eligible.
Travel:
None
Location:
Newbury, OH Manufacturing Facility.
1 st Shift 7:00am – 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities
Maintains molds in good working conditions; dissembles, cleans and performs inspection. Performs mold repairs by precision machining; such as milling, turning, surface and form grinding, and CNC work. Builds new molds on occasion. Builds safe secondary equipment by precision machining components; assembles mechanical components, pneumatic systems and electrical circuits. Modifies and fabricates fixtures and special tooling; creates systems to improve or correct production processes. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work area.

What You Will Need To Succeed
Education & Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED, trade school or apprenticeship program Three (3) to Five (5) years previous experience in maintenance of molds Ability to read and interpret blueprints; work with calibration tools and gauges Ability to plan and execute task assignments Ability to reverse-engineer CAD/CAM experience Developed mechanical aptitude Good verbal communication skills and relations with internal and external customers. Ability to provide instruction and mentorship to junior team members Good analytical and problem-solving skills; mental and visual detail-oriented Ability to use hand tools and operate tow motor Basic computer and math skills Organized and able to multi-task Preferred: Ability to communicate effectively with vendors as needed Preferred: Work/personnel scheduling experience Preferred: Welding experience
Competencies
Demonstrates skills to perform key responsibilities, under minimal supervision through advanced training and/or on the job experience. Interruption to production schedule is minimized based on good preventative practices and efficient turnaround on unscheduled repairs. Provides solutions to problems that are atypical and applies mechanical skills to perform required maintenance on equipment. Understands production requirements and anticipates opportunities to ensure manufacturing goals are achieved. Uses safe practice of hand held tools and other equipment. Quality of team communications

Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing and reaching Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly Frequently exposed to oil and noise Exposure to heat or cold due to seasonal changes
